Gottman Couples Therapist
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, as well as a Certified Gottman Couples Therapist (CGT) with a practice operating in Bergen County, New Jersey. My passion is for helping people create stronger, healthier and more productive relationships. I will help you become aware of your emotional walls and then teach you how to effectively bring them down. I believe that The Gottman Method is advantageous to individuals and couples in all stages of relationships. While most people enter therapy after many years of distress and frustration, the interventions and skills that you will learn when working with me are equally beneficial to individuals seeking partners, couples who have just begun dating and those in long term relationships.
My therapeutic goal is to teach you the necessary skills and tools to become happier and more fulfilled in your relationships. You will learn to communicate in a way that is effective and productive, and will culminate with a sense of feeling validated and understood.
Experience combined with extensive training has enabled me to help a multitude of individuals and couples change the course of their relationships for the better.
John Gottman, PhD
"When a relationship achieves a certain level of safety and one partner clearly communicates that he or she wants to know about the underlying meaning of the other partner’s position, the other partner can finally open up and talk about his or her feelings, dreams, and needs. "
